Jialing river, named after the last king of the Zhao state, starts its flow from the basins of the Tibetan mountains. It’s known for its vivid green waters, some of the most stilt free that feed the great Yangtze. For its last 20 kilometers the river flows through the megacity of Chongqing. To some of its over 30 million inhabitants, it’s emerald waters serve as a lifeline, providing leasure to some and sustenance to others.
